This Mod opens the Yaesu FT100 up for full transmit on H.F, V.H.F and U.H.F bands. Please note, however, That ALL stored memory channels will be lost!
First, remove the front pannel from the radio and open the rear cover of the front pannel unit. BE CAREFULL......A cable connects them together!
Locate and remove R6035 (1) and R6036 (2) diodes on the display board ( R6035 may already be done by the factory!)
Reassemble and put the front back on the radio
Now comes the good bit!
press (DPS) and (LOCK) keys and whilst holding them in, press and hold the power on button for about a half second to turn the set on. Wait for the set to initialise itself. This is where you lose all your memory channels! Turn the set off.
Press and hold the (dwn) and (step) keys whilst switching the set on. Let go of all the keys and the display will read "r on" but this may be so quick that you dont see it!
Set the dial frequency to 375.72727MHz ( you will need to use ssb or cw to get the last digits).
After you do that press the mode button to go back to FM mode and turn the power off.
Next press and hold the (dwn) and (step) keys whilst switching the set on, let go of all the keys and the display will read "hf on" but , again, this may be too fast to see!
Next set the display for 549.61163MHZ, Remember to return to fm mode when done! turn off the set.
Press and hold the (dwn) and (step) keys whilst switching on the set. let go of all the keys and the display will read "vU on" Again it may be quick!
The mod is done! Turn the set off and back on to finish.
